I had to replace the grip bushings in a Colt Delta Elite I bought that had been locktighted in. I bought the Challis bushing removal tool, which allowed me to remove the damaged bushings without hurting the threads, and installed the new Challis bushings with no problems with a 7/32 socket. I would highly recommend the bushing removal wrench if one is ever going to remove the standard bushings from a 1911, and replacing those bushings with the Challis hex head bushings to prevent future removal problems.

Perfect. Exactly what was required to bring system back to ready status. Grip bushings and bushing pocket stripped or cross threaded from manufacturer. Pointed tap and oversized bushings made it an ez, issue & worry free repair. Hex heads should be standard issue on all pistols.
