My Kimber had one of the factory bushing cracked and the bushing was not seated all the way so rigid grips would not go on correctly. I used the bushing extractor tool to remove it and replaced it with these bushings which went in so smooth and snug!
These oversize bushing fit my stainless frame Springfield Armory perfectly. My 1911 grip bushing holes got stripped when removing them not long after I purchased the gun. The bushings were staked and the screws had been tightened too much at the factory. I lubricated these stainless steel bushings with specific stainless steel grease and then installed to torque specifications. Stainless has a tendency to gall so the grease is better than locktite. Nice product, it's a one of kind product thought Challis is the only one to make stainless bushings.
I retapped and replaced the bushing on my Kimber. These bushings are actually better quality than what the manufacturer had installed. They installed fast and easy. I was done in less than 10 minutes. I love the hex-heads, they allow for precise torque for the bushings. I recommend getting the rubber bushing spacers as well.
These Hex drive grip bushings are very high quality. The Hex drive makes installation a breeze.
This is the magic sauce. From a lost cause to no problem in about 10 minutes. Now don't over tighten the grips screws again.
