Easy to install and remove. Loctite is not necessary. Use 7/32" nut driver or socket. If using a torque driver, our recommendation is 18 in-lbs for both steel and aluminum frames. These slim bushings will work with grips 0.188" - 0.245" thick. Use...

Very satisfied with the product, I only gave it 4 instead of 5 starts for two reasons well 3 actually. 1.) I think they are a bit pricey, 2.) I think that the tools to put them in are also a bit pricey.. and 3.) shipping could of been a bit faster. Other than those things I do are the best on the market. But $30+ can be hard to convince a customer to spend sometimes.

Challis hex bushings, stainless

The 1911, a work horse that has been reeltively unchanged in design for over one hundred years. Sure there have been several modifications and add ones that have improved the overall feel of the pistol. Up until now, there has not been any "ground breaking" leaps forward in technology for the 1911.

The Challis hex bushings are a game changer! The bushing has been an often looked over part of the 1911 for an entire century. No one, until now, had thought of modifying this tiny part. The days of using an easy out or vise grips to removed a bushing are over. Now all that is needed is a nut driver. The hexagonal shape allows for a six-point socket to be used for a secure fitment.

The bushings design also allows the user to install o-rings to secure the grips to the frame.

Challis has taken this small, often overlooked part, and propelled it into the 21st Century.

Challis Slim Bushings

Pros:
Cons:
I ordered a set of Challis slim bushings after nearly twisting off a bushing in a Nighthawk and having to use an EzOut to remove it. The Challis bushings are easily installed and best of all will be easy to remove if needed. And I now have a Challis slim bushing removal tool, which worked perfectly on a Dan Wesson Valor V-Bob. Super!

Don’t forget the bushing o-rings

Cons:
If you need one more reason to get the only bushings you’ll ever need, here it is. They accomidate o-rings that sear below the grip panels. Combined with o-rings below the screw heads, these prevent screws from walking out or grips from scraping up the frame. It’s a system and makes a 1911 hold together like it should.
