For use with grips that are between 0.156" and 0.188" thick.* These extra slim bushings use the same O-ring for both the bushing and the grip screw. Eight O-rings are included in the package. If you remove your grips often, we suggest you buy more grip screw O-rings to have on hand.

Easy to install and remove. Loctite is not necessary. Use 7/32" nut driver or socket. If using a torque driver, 18 in-lbs is recommended for both steel and aluminum frames.

We strongly recommend using the included O-rings. They will:

Prevent loose bushings which can lead to stripped frame threads
Eliminate loose grip screws
Prevent scuffed frames
Provide the most secure mounting available for the 1911; you'll feel the difference!

* We don't sell screws for grips within this thickness range. Such grips require special grip screws that are shorter and have a shoulder head as shown below. They are sometimes called slim grip screws, but not all "slim" grip screws have the required head style.

Used these to replace my stock slim (slotted) bushings and was pleasantly surprised at the difference between the two. Very good design and will no doubt be more durable. Happy to support a well run US company!

About 2 months ago I changed the grips on my Springfield 1911 Emissary. It came with slim grips and I wanted to change to the larger standard grips, this required changing the grip bushings also. To make a long story short replacing the standard bushings became a nightmare. Your excellent bushing removal tool got the old bushings out and your hex head bushings are far superior to the standard style bushings. So when I wanted new grips for my SA EMP4, I started out by ordering your your parts before i took anything apart. New grip installation went very smooth because I had everything that I needed before starting.

I now have these bushings on a few of my 1911s. IMO, every 1911 should come from factory with the Challis bushings installed. Yes, these bushings are that good.

Why did it take me so long to pick these up? The concept is so perfect. When you need or want to swap out bushings these should be your go to option. With the bushings, o rings and the torque limiting wrench you can ensure your grips will be properly installed and stay put. Awesome company with awesome support and customer service.

Simple well engineered grip bushings

I needed the extra slims to fit some Esmerelda thin grips. These bushings were perfect and sta exactly right. Very easy to install. The only trick was getting the rubber o-ring to sit just right. I would definitely order these again.
