Use to repair the frame when the threads have been stripped. The frame must be tapped with oversize threads before use. These bushings together with our Oversize Bushing Tap are the easiest and highest quality way to repair a stripped frame.

Easy to install and remove. Loctite is not necessary. Use 7/32" nut driver or socket. If using a torque driver, our recommendation is 18 in-lbs for both steel and aluminum frames.

These slim bushings will work with grips 0.188" - 0.245" thick. Use our full size bushings for thicker grips, and our extra slim bushings for thinner grips.

We strongly recommend using our bushing O-rings and grip screw O-rings. They will:

Prevent loose bushings which can lead to stripped frame threads
Eliminate loose grip screws
Prevent scuffed frames
Provide the most secure mounting available for the 1911; you'll feel the difference!

First thing people personalize on a 1911 is the grips. And unless the bushings are staked or loctited they will strip! Challis makes the best replacement or oversized bushings available period! They are worth every penny!!! 👍

You can either weld up the hole and start over or use these to fix the mess quickly. Using Challis's oversize tap requires no additional drilling. These bushings are made correctly with clean, deep threads threads that run higher up the body than any other bushings I've seen. When you're working on a thin alloy frame, every thread counts! Use the best and skip the drama.

Shipped same day I ordered! The repair bushings was exactly what I needed to fix a customers 1911 he took upon himself to "fix", made the process fast and easy. I was able to transfer some savings on to my customer because of the time it saved me not having to make my own. Will use this company for all my future needs!
