The Challis Bushing System offers a hex drive bushing for easy installation and removal, and O-ring shock
absorbers to keep bushings, screws and grips tight. Click "next" to learn more
If you have concerns about removing your stock (slotted) bushings, the Challis Bushing Extractor will do the job efficiently and without damage to bushings or gun. It can be found in the "tools" section of the parts store
Slip the Bushing O-ring on the bushing. A groove in the bushing will hold the O-ring in place.
-
Shock Absorption. The O-ring absorbs the shock of recoil, preventing the grip from impacting and loosening the bushing. This is especially vaulable when using heavy grips such as G-10 and ivory.
-
Anti Scuff. Because the grips can’t shift on the frame during recoil, abrasive grips such as G10 will
not
scuff the frame.

Frequently asked
questions
As shown in the illustration, when the grips are installed on the bushings there will be a small gap between the grip and the frame. The grip will fully seat when the grip screws are installed.
If grips will not fully seat, a Grip Screw O-ring
can be used instead of a Bushing O-ring.
Frequently asked
questions
Slip the grip screw O-ring on the screw. This O-ring completes the shock absorbing performance by further isolating the bushings and screws from the grips and preventing loose screws

Frequently asked
questions
Install the grip screw. When the screw is tightened, the grip is fully seated against the frame and both O-rings are compressed into their final position. Tighten the screw only enough to seat the grip. With both O-rings installed, the bushings, grips and screws will stay in place.
Everything you'll need to complete the job is available in our parts store.
