Ordered Hex bushings and O rings with Brian's hex wrench. Easy to install and worked great. Will be converting the rest of my 1911's to hex bushings. Brian has made me three sets of grips so far, Red Morrel,York Gum, and the last set a beautiful Birds Eye Maple. Very happy with all of them. Gary in Omaha Ne.

If you ever need to replace your existing conventional 1911 grip bushings for whatever reason, do yourself a favor and use these hex drive bushings instead. You can thank me later! No special tools needed, just a 7/32 hex drive on your torque wrench, that's it! Follow Challis' recommended torque values for steel or aluminum frames and you are done. They work great and they look good, too!

I purchased the standard Hex Drive Bushings for use on a Colt Wiley Clapp Government to mount a set of Elephant Ivory grips. I wanted the hex bushings so I could also use the Bushing Orings to keep from damaging the grips. This is a working gun that will be carried and shot often.

The bushings installed easily and are a perfect fit. The hex drive is awesome! No chance of slipping off and causing damage to the finish or the frame! I will purchase more to replace all of my factory bushings.
