I replaced the slim grip bushings on my Dan Wesson Guardian with Challis' standard stainless steel bushings. First of all, the Challis bushings are totally unlike the fragile, easy to screw up in multiple ways, bushings that are standard fare on all guns. They're, well, tough and by tough I mean strong, both looking and in reality. The walls of the screw are more substantial than the old ones and since there isn't slots in them, it would take a lot of pressure to collapse them like the old ones are so prone to do. When screwed in, you're using a hex driver (I used Challis' torque hex driver-highly recommended, too) that goes over the head of the bushing that won't easily slip and mar the frame like the tools used on the old bushing. No worrying about the bushing slot widening or the walls changing shape. Just get 'em started with your fingers and tighten with a driver. All 4 bushings in in just minutes.



The finish of these bushings are high quality, too, with no burrs or manufacture marks of any kind. High end bushings for our high end 1911s...perfect.

Challis Hex Drive Bushings are hands down the absolute best product available. As a recreational and competitive shooter of over 20 years, and a lifelong fan of the 1911, I can say that these grip bushings are a genuine upgrade over the original design. The Hex Drive system and bulletproof construction virtually eliminate the possibility of bushing failure, and make it much easier to achieve proper torque specs so you don’t have to worry about them loosening at the worst possible time. If you’re a competitive shooter, LEO, recreational shooter, or simply enjoy swapping grips out on your pet 1911, you owe it to yourself to have the toughest and most secure grip bushings available. My choice is Challis.

After having to battle the factory bushings in my Series 80 Colt Officer's Model, these new bushings are the best I have seen. Well made and the hex head design is brilliant.
