It works very well,a must have tool to keep from damaging the grip bushings !!I would caution though to first apply heat,as they could have been loctited and will release easier !!

Finally slotted bushings are no longer a problem at all. Even damaged or Loctited bushings screw right out when the Challis remover is screwed with the grip screw onto the slotted bushing. Replacement of the slotted bushings with the Hex Drive Bushings and O rings protect the frame, the grips and eliminate bushing problems forever.

Chewed up my bushings trying to pull them out, but this thing didn't care. Worked like a charm. Trying to switch to thin grips. Glad I discovered this tool.

I was in a bind with some damaged grip bushings on my 1911. They were really stuck and the harder I tried to remove them the more damaged they became. I struggled for days, then went online to try to find a solution. Came across a video for the Challis Bushing Extractor. Ordered one and it worked great! Done in minutes. An awesome tool for any 1911 owner. I highly recommend this.
