Ordered this after a different bushing bit started to destroy 3 out of 4 bushings rather than remove them. Stopped immediately and got this as a last effort to do the job myself. This saved the day and worked flawlessly.

I bought the Challis Bushing Extractor after attempting to remove the bushings from a new Springfield Armory 1911 pistol. Despite using heat to loosen the red locktite, the soft metal of the bushing caused the channel to literally shred as I attempted to remove. I bought the CBE and put it on the trashed bushing.....and presto! The bushing came out with ease. Awesome product.

Anyone that owns a 1911 should have one of these tools. It makes the bushing removal so easy with no damage to the gun.

I had badly “buggered” bushings, mostly due to attempting removal with other tools that did not employ a grip screw to secure the tool to the bushing. The Challis tool is the answer.

for anyone who changes grips periodically this tool is a must. I purchased both the full size bushing and the slim bushing removal tools. They make removing bushing a piece of cake. And then replace them with challis bushings which makes future changes even easier.
