I didn't discover Colt staked their bushings until I completely demolished one on a new acquisition. Not only did the Challis Bushing Extractor remove the non-destroyed staked bushings, it made quick work of the one that barely resembled a bushing. Just a bit of dressing the edges to allow the die to seat and off it came. My only regret is not having this in my toolbox sooner.

This tool is a lifesaver.

You might need to heat up the bushings to losen up the locktite.

So simple and inexpensive. If you're going to be changing your bushings this tool is a must have. Worked absolutely perfect on 6 1911s so far.
