How many times have I bought the newest "wonder tool" guaranteed to do it all just to discover that not only will it not do it all but won't do even the one thing it was truly meant to do.

Well, the slim bushing extractor is, thank God, the real deal. Amazing. I just followed directions and, just like that, out came all 4 bushings in less than 5 minutes. No hassles, uncomplicated, and quick. Just as advertised.

This is one fantastic tool every pistolero needs. Oh, did I mention that it's cheap at under $30! Get one, you won't be sorry and likely you will be sorry if you pass on this and mess your frame up.

Slim Bushing Extractor makes an easy task of some stubborn slim Bushings.

Had been working on some 1911's and ran into some issues trying to remove some slim bushings. The gunsmith screwdriver kept sliding over the bushing screwdriver slots due to how small they were.I didn't want to take a chance on damaging the finish of the gun or ruining the frame bushing threads, after reading thru various 1911 websites I ran into someone mentioning the Challis Bushing extractor's.Ordered one for full size bushings and one for slim bushing.Received the tools, both were well made.Followed the directions from the video on the Challis website and had all the stubborn slim bushing's off the 1911 frames within minutes.

No damaged to frames or bushing's removed.Highly recommended,a must have for a 1911 Gunsmith or hobbiest,Collector.Satisfied Customer.

Slim bushing wrench with bushings and O rings-excellent tool/system

Pros:
Cons:
When I was trying to change out bushings in an aluminum frame, the regular bit could not get a sold grip on the short bushings. Due to worry about stuck bushings and removal from an aluminum gun and the positive comments on the forums, I ordered the wrench, bushings, and both sets O rings. Shipped fast. Removal was effortless and didn’t even mark the old bushings. The best thing was no worry about extraction or damage to threads in the gun. The Challis bushings were TIGHT going in, so I added a tiny bit of oil and watched closely to be sure they were not cross threading. The hex shape gives more leverage than I needed and it was easy to get them in/to the correct torque. The directions said thread locker was not needed and I’m sure they are right. The G-10 grips are now solidly anchored and do not loosen while shooting. Every bushing I change will be with the Challis tool, bushing, and both rings from now on, even on steel framed guns.
