The original bushing threads striped. Bought this tap and the guide and the oversized bushings. Everything worked together well. Totally saved my frame. I will only use Challis bushings in the future

My Kimber had a cracked bushing from the factory and was not seated all the way. I removed it with the bushing extractor tool but the threads were shot in the frame, PANIC! Nope, Challis to the rescue with oversized bushing and tap. I had my son watch from 90 degrees from where I watched to make sure tap went in straight. Made new threads and new bushing went in like butter. Use threadlock so not doing this again!

I have a Colt Defender that came with slim grips. I own a lot of government and commander sized 1911 so I am used to the standard size grips. when I went to swap out the bushings on the alloy frame one of the holes was stripped. This product made my original plan possible again.

Work great thank you for having it I have owned 1911 for many years first time I have ever had a problem but with your tap and bushing as good as new
